Education & Continuing Education — Bonita Springs–Estero REALTORS®

Continuing Education (CE)

Stay current with your Florida continuing education requirements and make sure your hours are reported correctly to DBPR and BER.

Verify Your CE Credits with DBPR

The Florida Department of Business & Professional Regulation (DBPR) is the official record for your license status and CE history.

  1. Go to myfloridalicense.com.
  2. Log in to your online profile.
  3. Select “View Continuing Education” under your license.
  4. Confirm what’s required, completed, and any shortfall before renewal.

Online CE Partners & Discounts

BER members have access to online curriculum catalogues and special pricing through our education partners.

VanEd – Van Education Center InteractCE

Watch your BER emails and class calendar for current discount codes and bundles available through these partners.

Report Completed CE to BER

Your CE provider reports hours to the state — they do not report them to BER. Help us keep your member record and Code of Ethics status up to date.

Tip: Need to double-check what you still owe? Log into myfloridalicense.com, choose View Continuing Education, and select the correct renewal period.

Pre- & Post-Licensing in Florida

Whether you’re brand-new, just joined BER, or renewing again, there are a few key milestones you need to hit to keep your Florida license and REALTOR® membership in good standing.

As a New Sales Associate (Post-Licensing)

  • 45-Hour Post-License is required by FREC within the first two (2) years after receiving your initial sales associate license.
  • Don’t wait until the last minute — the course covers practical, day-to-day real estate activities that help you launch your business.
  • BER regularly partners with providers such as Larson Education and Royal Institute for post-licensing offerings.
  • The GRI 100 series may be taken in lieu of the 45-hour post-license course. Completing the 100-level modules also starts you on the path to the GRI designation.

Questions about which option is best? Contact our Education & Service Coordinator (see “Need Help?” below).

As a New BER Member

Within 90 days of joining Bonita Springs–Estero REALTORS® you must complete:

  • New Member Orientation
  • Code of Ethics training
  • Mandatory MLS Orientation — taken online at BER-Education.com and required within 60 days of joining the MLS.

Your Code of Ethics completion is reported to both DBPR and the National Association of REALTORS®.

  • NAR has a new-member Code of Ethics requirement that must be satisfied when you first join a REALTOR® association.
  • After that, all REALTORS® — including new members — must complete approved Code of Ethics training every two (2) years to stay in compliance with NAR policy.

As an Active / Renewing Agent

  • You must complete 14 hours of Continuing Education every two (2) years based on your license issue/renewal date.
  • Licenses typically expire on March 31 or September 30, unless DBPR has noted a different date or circumstance.
  • Core Law is required in each renewal cycle and is usually included in the 14-hour CE package offered at BER (often via Royal Institute).
  • NAR’s biennial Code of Ethics requirement must also be satisfied every two years; BER offers courses that meet this standard.
  • Current NAR Cycle: January 2025 – December 2027.
  • Within this cycle, NAR requires 3 hours of Code of Ethics training and 2 hours of Fair Housing education.
Reminder: CE, post-license, and renewal rules come from DBPR/FREC. Always confirm your status and deadlines in your myfloridalicense.com account.

Build Beyond the Minimums

Pre- and post-licensing keep you legal; designations and certifications help you stand out.

Consider weaving GRI modules, specialty certifications (such as AHWD® or SFR®), or commercial/land designations into your long-term education plan.
